What a popular word these days! We seem to hear it daily, but mostly we understand its a product of our times. Some call it a buzz word and its claimed to be popular with the millennial generation, who want it all at their finger tips. As much as we fight the urge, there is really no escaping it’s power and importance to our lives. Probably the reason that some way or another we are all getting on board.
Now we call it Hosted Desktop and some other providers call it Virtual Desktop or Cloud Solution. But the idea that you can access your data or application from virtually anywhere on any device is the premise. Some are against the idea of cloud computing because of the obvious security issues it presents.
If you’ve been using a web mail account since 1998 like most of the western world, you’ve been participating in cloud computing.
The whole idea is to asses what data is crucial to your business/life. Then you can decide on what solution fits. Do you want to know where things are stored and who has access to them? I would imagine. But the user doesn’t want to ignore that this is where technology is going.
