I am back for a second week with the testing of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. I am not sure if I am totally sold on this bad boy yet; still love how easy to use my iPad is as a tablet and the legacy feeling I receive from using a good old laptop. These are my thoughts:
Battery life, It has been really good so far. Up until today, I hadn’t charged it for 3 days and it was still going. Microsoft Spec Sheet says it has 9/hrs of battery life when in use, which in my opinion is accurate. It differs from a conventional laptop that will die even if you are not using it, and acts more like a tablet, which I enjoy.
Stylist with One Note, this might be one of my favorite features of the Surface Pro 3. It doesn’t act like legacy writing pads, which muddles your writing. I find this very easy to use and copies my writing style very well.
Back-lit Keyboard, this is great when working in the dark (come on we all know we are guilty of working in bed!). I find it much easier to concentrate on the keys, when you are not relying on the light from the screen.
Power Cable, I might dislike the power cable the most of all things I’ve listed so far. I find it very easy to connect with the magnet connector, but if its bumped it will often loose connection, but stick to the side of the screen mimicking being connected. This is very annoying for me.
Resolution of Screen. Awesome…Very quick and responsive. I find it exceptionally good when streaming The Open at work! (Sorry Boss!)
